From Miami and Southeast Florida:
Via the Florida Turnpike
Take turnpike to exit 267A. This is a new exit which points the way to Apoka via the S.R. 429 north /toll road. The toll is $1.
Follow 429 north to end at Highway 441.
Take Highway 441 north and travel about 12 miles to Mount Dora. Turn left and enter town via Old 441 by Circle K or take a more direct route by going a few more miles to S.R. 44B by the McDonald's and Wendy's and turning left there.
Via I-95
Take I-95 north to S.R. 528 west (Bee Line Expressway) to Florida Turnpike. Follow turnpike to exit 267A -- the Apopka exit -- which is S.R. 429 north. This is a toll road, and the toll is $1. Follow 429 to the end at Hwy 441 and turn left (north). Follow 441 in to Mount Dora, approximately 12 miles.
From Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Southwest Florida
Via I-75
Take I-75 north to S.R. 44 east at Wildwood. Although the map shows you've overshot Mount Dora, it's more direct than the often confusing back roads. At Wildwood, stay on S.R. 44 to U.S. 441. Take 441 south to Mount Dora.
Another option is taking I-4 to Orlando, exiting at the Florida Turnpike, and taking the Turnpike north about 9 miles to exit 267A -- the Apopka exit -- which is S.R. 429 north. This is a toll road, and the toll is $1. Follow 429 to the end at Hwy 441 and turn left (north). Follow 441 in to Mount Dora, approximately 12 miles.
From Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Northeast Florida:
Via I-95
Take I-95 south to I-4 west. At Sanford, take S.R. 46 west into Mount Dora. S.R. 46 turns into First Avenue in Mount Dora.
From Tallahassee, Gainesville
and North Florida:
Via I-75
Take I-75 south to S.R. 44 east. At Wildwood, stay on S.R. 44 to U.S. 441. Take 441 south to Mount Dora.
Via Florida Turnpike
Take turnpike to the Leesburg
exit. Go to Leesburg and then to U.S. 441. Take 441 south to Mount
Dora.
1) Whichever direction you've come from, you'll find that the center of town is at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Donnelly Street.
2) From here, head north on Donnelly to 11th Avenue (six blocks from the center of town). Turn left.
3) Follow 11th Avenue two blocks to McDonald Street.
4) The Coconut Cottage Inn is located at the corner of 11th and McDonald. We are the only two story house on the corner. Parking is off 11th behind the house.
